Testimonials
We had an excellent experience with John looking for a new home in Edmonton. He is professional, reliable, prompt, courteous, and has a great sense of humor. He pointed out any negatives if not obvious with some guidance on overcoming them if we were to consider buying that particular home. The paperwork was done in a timely and efficient manner and John was always available to answer questions. We would definately recommend John for your next home needs.

Selling Your Home – The Right Way

Traditional Marketing

“Some Things Will Last Forever”

There are always “tried, tested, and true” marketing approaches that will last forever. For instance, a phone call will always be a part of talking with buyers no matter how much text-messaging catches on. People will always want to walk through their home before they buy it; no matter how good virtual tours get.

But some other marketing methods fade into antiquity. We no longer do “office caravans” with all of the Realtors in town. That just doesn’t work anymore. We don’t do “new listing bulletins” through the real estate board because nobody reads them. So we don’t do that anymore.

But still others get re-invented to serve the sale in a different way. Below are some of the traditional marketing methods that we still use, and an explanation of why we think they’re useful.

YARD SIGNS

Did you know that the Re/max logo is one of the top 5 most recognized corporate logos on the planet? As such, when buyers see our yard sign on your lawn… they know that your home is not only for sale, but will be handled professionally.

Yard sign drive-bys are still one of the best sources of buyers for a home. Shocking, but true!

OPEN HOUSES : THE “KILLER OPEN HOUSE”

“A New Spin to Revive an Old Horse”

For decades now, Realtors have done Open Houses. In fact it’s become a national past time for many of us. We spend our weekends sitting in your living room, waiting for people to come and wander through your house. Meanwhile, you park around the corner and hope that the buyer might possibly be driving past at the right time.

Well the jig is up. You’ve clued in to the fact that buyers just aren’t found at open houses. If they are, they probably would have seen the house anyways… this was just easier for them to wander through the house.

You know that relying on an open house to get your home sold is like relying on a lottery ticket for your retirement. It’s an act of desperation. You also know that you’d rather be at home for the afternoon, and that I’d rather be at home for the afternoon.

But what really gets you upset is that most of the people coming through the open house live in the neighborhood. It pisses you off to know that the weird guy up the street is looking in your bathroom. Or that nosy old lady that spies on you every afternoon is able to come in and nose around your basement. YUCK!

So what if we could turn all that around? What if we could use those neighbors (yes, even that creepy guy) to our advantage? There is a way to make them a terrific resource and to use them to your benefit and profit.

Meet the KILLER OPEN HOUSE. It’s a Knock-Knock.ca exclusive; and one of the most powerful tools in our impressive arsenal of marketing strategies.

If you want to know more about the KILLER Open House, call John Carle at (780) 701-1904 to have a walk-through of the strategy. We aren’t posting it on here because we know that Realtors are hanging out on this site every single day; and we don’t want to share this with them.

FEATURE SHEETS

Pretty isn’t effective. A feature sheet is not a marketing piece, but an informational one. As such, we handle our feature sheets very differently than most of our colleagues. They haev a purpose, and used properly they can achieve that purpose.

THE GOOD OLD TELEPHONE

OK, this might sound weird coming from such a “techy” group of Realtors. But there is no single better way to convert a buyer than to talk with them on the phone. No matter how many emails we send, no matter how pretty our websites… the phone is still the best.

So we do our very best to get your buyer leads on the phone, where we are more likely to close them for a showing on your home. Why? Because that’s why you’ve hired us…

Property Type: Detached Single Family Home
Aproved By: Mortgage Broker
Price Range: Up to $375,000
Time Frame: 30 - 90 Days

Notes:

We’re looking for a detached, single family home in the southside of Edmonton. The buyer would prefer an unfinished basement, and definitely prefers home built after 1986 (2×6 construction). Building type isn’t a big issue for them, as they’ve seen bi-levels and 2 stories and 4 level splits that they like.

They are not afraid of a fixer upper.
