Edmonton Real Estate
Edmonton is located in the middle of the Provice of Alberta in Canada. The population is estimated at just over 1,000,000 which makes it Canada’s 6th largest city. Nicknamed “The Gateway to the North”, Edmonton is a stopping point for most people who want to access northern Alberta and the NorthWest Territories. Much of the industry in the Edmonton area is dedicated towards servicing those areas.

Edmonton Alberta Real Estate
There is a vibrant market in the area, with homes selling quickly and being replaced by other homes to keep inventory demands reasonable. However, the number of buyers certainly outweighs the number of homes for sale.
Organized real estate in the Edmonton area is centered around a single real estate board, the Edmonton Real Estate Board. Almost all Realtors in the area are members of this board, the Alberta Real Estate Association, and The Canada Real Estate Association.
Compared to other major cities in Canada, Edmonton has a quiet city center. It is primarily an urban community, with shoppers choosing the local malls over the downtown shopping. West Edmonton Mall has had a major influence on creating this trend.
However, life has begun to return to the downtown core in recent years. There has been a construction boom of condominiums in downtown Edmonton which has fuelled the development of related services and shopping.
All in all, the entire area is in a boom period. Work is relatively easy to find and compared to other Canadian cities like Calgary, Toronto, and Vancouver… our housing is inexpensive.
